On Line Claims System (OLCS) Problems

6th December 2012 | News

The Department of Education and Skills has asked CPSMA to bring to the attention of schools some problems encountered in relation to the operation of the On Line Claims System (OLCS). Here is what they have to say:

“This Department’s teaching and non-teaching staff payrolls are encountering problems where schools delay the keying of employee absences to the On Line Claims System (OLCS).

It is very important that all absences, particularly sick leave absences, are keyed to the OLCS as early as practicable.  This should be done irrespective of whether or not substitutes have been employed to cover the absence.

The timely keying of absences is necessary to facilitate the smooth running of payrolls, to avoid the overpayment of employees and to comply with audit requirements.

I would appreciate if you could ensure that absences are keyed to the OLCS in chronological order as soon as possible after the absence is notified to the school. “
