18th October 2013 | News

The Health Service Executive(HSE) has recently published HSE guidelines on the Management of Infectious Disease in Schools. Click on the link below to download “Management of Infectious Disease in Schools- September 2013“.

This document was produced by a subgroup of the HSE Public Health Medicine Communication Disease Group and replaces the previously published guidance “Infection in School:  A manual for School Personnel (most recent edition 2005).

The guidelines were designed to assist schools to prevent or minimise the spread of infection, illness and disease to staff, pupils and others (such as student teachers and volunteers).  They were primarily developed for use by teachers in primary and post-primary schools and aim to raise awareness about common and important infectious diseases and provide guidance on the prevention and management of infectious diseases in educational settings.
