| WE ARE HIRING
Senior Communications Officer Digital & Content Lead Catholic Primary Schools Management Association | Part-time | Maynooth |
About CPSMA
CPSMA is Ireland’s representative body for the boards of management of over 2,700 Catholic primary schools. Based in Maynooth, we provide governance support, legal advice, training, and policy advocacy to Catholic primary schools across the country. We engage at the highest levels of Irish education policy — with the Department of Education, the Oireachtas, and national education bodies — on behalf of our member schools
The Role
This is a senior part-time position — 2.5 days per week — focused primarily on digital content production and channel management. You will lead CPSMA’s digital communications across LinkedIn, Instagram, WhatsApp Channels, our website, and e-newsletter, while also producing policy communications, advocacy documents, and member resources.
You will work closely with the General Secretary on a wide range of communications challenges: from responding to breaking education policy news to producing explainer content for busy school principals. No two weeks are the same.
What You Will Do
- Manage CPSMA’s digital channels — LinkedIn, Instagram, WhatsApp, website, and e-newsletter — producing regular, high-quality content for each
- Develop and maintain a content calendar that keeps CPSMA visible, relevant, and engaging across platforms
- Produce digital publications: e-briefings, infographics, policy explainers, and governance resources for our member schools
- Monitor media and social media coverage of education policy and provide timely intelligence briefings to the General Secretary
- Prepare reactive media statements and lines to take; identify media opportunities as they arise
- Support Oireachtas engagement through the preparation of briefing materials and digital communications
What We Are Looking For
- At least five years’ experience in digital communications, content production, or social media management
- A proven ability to produce compelling content across multiple digital platforms for varied audiences
- Excellent writing skills across registers — from a punchy Instagram caption to a formal Oireachtas submission
- Confidence with digital tools: CMS, social media scheduling, email marketing platforms, and design tools such as Canva
- The ability to translate complex policy material into clear, engaging digital content
- Strong editorial judgement and an instinct for what works online
- Experience in a policy, advocacy, charity, or public sector communications environment is a distinct advantage
- An understanding of, and sympathy with, the ethos of Catholic primary education would be welcome
