Commencement of Section 30 of the Teaching Council Act

The Minister for Education & Skills on November 1st last,  signed the Commencement Order for Section 30 of the Teaching Council Act  stating as it does as follows:

A person who is employed as a teacher in a recognised school but
(a) is not a registered teacher, or
(b) is removed or suspended from the register under Part V ,
shall not be remunerated by the school in respect of his or her employment out of moneys provided by the Oireachtas

The effective implementation date for the above is 28th January 2014. That means that in effect unregistered teachers in registered schools will not be paid after January 28th next.
