The Department of Education was contacted by the National Crime Prevention Unit, wishing to remind school Principals and Boards of Management to be
security conscious about retaining cash amounts in schools. The National Crime Prevention Unit has informed the Department that advice on burglary prevention and cash handling is readily available from the local Garda Divisional Crime Prevention Officers.
