Scoilnet is the official Department of Education and Skills hub containing over 20,000 online resources, which can be accessed according to class level, curricular area & curricular strand

English

Oxford Owl has a comprehensive list of eBooks for ages 3-11 on this site

This website provides a free online collection of easy to read stories, poems and comics for children of all ages

This website provides many challenges for pupils in English and Maths for all class levels. While it is subscription based, teachers can set up accounts for a free trial period for pupils

This website allows you to create handwriting worksheets for all class levels. It caters for a variety of handwriting styles

All library members can download books for free by downloading the BorrowBox app using your library barcode and pin number

 

Maths

This site has a wide range of maths activities categorised by age and maths strands

This website has mathematics tutorials, tests and games for pupils of all primary school class levels

This website has a huge range of mathematics and other curricular activities, games and activities for all class levels

Here you can find a range of interactive maths games categorised by class level (junior infants-second class (KS1) and 3rd-6th class (KS2))

 Coding

Microsoft DreamSpace HomeSpace  series begins with their MakeCode platform – micro:bit, Arcade and Minecraft and some other areas such as python programming

This website helps pupils to learn to program interactive games, stories and animations

Social Environmental and Scientific Education (History, Geography and Science)

The National Geographic has a wide range of videos, games and quizzes which relate to History, Geography and Science

Get pupils closer to nature with these 50 things to do outdoors. Parents can print off the simple tasks and pupils can tick off the activities as they complete them

 

Visual Arts

This Irish visual arts website has short videos, slideshows, lessons and projects for primary school pupils

Illustrator Jarrett Lerner has a number of unfinished comic strips here which can be printed off and completed

 

Music

An interactive site with a collection of music animations suitable for pupils in senior classes

This website has hundreds of improvisation games for pupils of all ages

NCSE has created a range online resources for teachers and parents of pupils with additional needs
